Bassett-Smith Architecture is a high-end architectural practice based in Mount Maunganui. Guided by principles of sustainability, they specialise in design-focussed architecture that is considered and enduring.
With these values in mind, we crafted a renewed brand identity and supporting print collateral to reflect both Bassett-Smith Architecture’s contemporary aesthetic and its commitment to future-conscious design.
A humanist sans serif font was chosen for the logo, with letterforms that feature subtle cut-outs and unique flourishes in reference to the fine detailing and precision of architectural drawings. By connecting the two T forms in ‘Bassett’, we drew further parallels to building and structure, while also providing a secondary icon for use across supporting brand assets.
Continuing this thematically architectural visual tone, a modular grid system has been employed throughout, though this is softened with a subdued colour palette of Earth, Birch and Blanc— hues drawn from the natural environment and inspired by Bassett-Smith’s ethos.
